Liz Baron is a Chicago-based playwright. Her scripts have been developed and produced in Chicago, New York, Minneapolis, Omaha, and elsewhere. She has been a core apprentice at the Playwrights’ Center, a semifinalist for the Princess Grace Award, and a three-time O’Neill National Playwrights Conference semifinalist. Liz holds a B.A. in theater and English from Dartmouth College and an M.F.A. in dramatic writing from Carnegie Mellon University, where she was a recipient of the Steven Bochco Fellowship. She lives in Ravenswood with her husband.

The Storefront Playwright Project returns to Chicago next month! I’ll be at 72 E. Randolph writing from 10am-2pm on Saturday, July 6th. Stop by if you can! There will be writers there Tuesday through Saturday, July 2nd-27th, from 10am until 6pm.

A scene from Liz’s play GREEN SEPTEMBER has been selected for the 2013 Women’s Theatre Alliance New Play Development Workshop. It will be presented, along with other short new plays and scenes, on June 25th at 7:30pm, at Stage 773 in Chicago. $5 donations accepted at the door!

GOBLIN will have a staged reading in February as part of Halcyon Theatre’s play development lab. Location: Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3253 W. Wilson. Date and time TBD.
